Lydia Holdridge - ViolinistLydia Holdridge grew up in the Rochester, NY area, starting the violin at the age of six. She studied violin at the Roberts Wesleyan College Community Music School and later at the Hochstein Music School. She received her Bachelor's in Music from Roberts Wesleyan University, where she studied with Perrin Yang and An-Chi Lin. While a student, she was a winner of the orchestra's Concerto/Aria Competition and was named the Presser Scholar for her senior year. Since graduating, she has continued to play with the Roberts Wesleyan College Community Orchestra, frequently as Concertmaster. She has also enjoyed six years of teaching music in the private and public-school systems. She resides in Parma, NY with her husband and three busy children. She is currently enjoying time off from teaching while focusing on her family and performing opportunities with the orchestra and Col Vita String Quartet. |
