Lesley Hogg - ViolistViolist Lesley Hogg has performed with professional orchestras across the United States, including regular engagements with the Virginia Symphony, the Spokane Symphony, South Carolina Philharmonic, Augusta Symphony, New England Repertory Orchestra, and the Pan American Symphony. She has extensive experience performing opera with Opera on the James, where she has been a member since 2010, and with the Ash Lawn Opera Festival (now Charlottesville Opera). She has performed in masterclasses for Daniel Foster, Kenneth Martinson, Amadi Azikiwe, Adele Anthony, and the Miami String Quartet. Her teachers include Choong-Jin Chang (Principal Violist of the Philadelphia Orchestra), Rita Porfiris (Hartt School, Houston Symphony), Shelley Coss (Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra), Ayn Balija (University of Virginia), and Constance Gee (Universities of Virginia and South Carolina). She plays on a 2005 viola by luthier Stanley Kiernoziak. When not performing, Lesley works as a software engineer (a skill she taught herself to do), plays video games, and studies languages. |
