Demi Viavattine - Cellist - NYDemi Viavattine believes that great educators must first be great musicians. This philosophy has guided her educational and professional journey, leading her to earn both a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a Performance Certificate and a Master of Music in Instrumental Performance at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music.
As a performer, Demi has appeared with ensembles including the Frost Symphony Orchestra, Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, Frost Repertory Orchestra, and the Penfield Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed alongside artists such as Tom Scott, Bruce Hornsby, Pat Metheny, Ben Folds, and Monica Mancini. Her concert venues have included a performance at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C., the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami Florida, and the Rochester International Jazz Festival. In addition to her orchestral work, Demi is an active freelance cellist who has performed at numerous weddings, ceremonies, and special events throughout Miami and Rochester. She also has extensive chamber music experience and enjoys collaborating with fellow musicians in a variety of ensemble settings. Demi served as the Teaching Assistant to cello professor Ross Harbaugh during her time at Frost and has taught cello lessons at Viavattine Music Studio in Rochester, New York, for six years. She is passionate about music education and believes that every student has the potential to make beautiful music. |
