Carolyn Becerra - ViolinistCarolyn Becerra started playing violin in her local public school Suzuki strings music program in Upstate New York; a program that began over 59 years ago as a commission project with the Eastman School of Music in Rochester. She later attended SUNY Fredonia, studying violin under Janet Sung, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. In her last semester, Carolyn studied violin performance under Antonio Torronteras during a semester abroad at the Conservatorio Superior de Musica Manuel Castillo in Seville, Spain. Carolyn has taught instrumental music in both the public and private schools as well as Spanish and ESL. Carolyn loves teaching private violin lessons to students of all ages. She performs in weddings and special events with the Col Vita String Quartet and the Jamestown String Quartet. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, getting outdoors, cooking, and reading. |
